Albert Hui

Connecting Capital with Heart

The power of UWC Atlantic's human spark

For Albert Hui (AC’97), the journey to UWC Atlantic began with an inspiring precedent. Growing up in Hong Kong, he watched his brilliant older cousin Stephanie Hui (AC’92) and school role model Isaac Vun (AC’96) thrive at AC before going on to top global universities.

But while world-class academics drew him to St Donat’s Castle, it was the raw, authentic human connections he formed on campus that permanently redefined his life’s mission.

"Many good schools have wonderful teachers, but at AC, the teachers' backgrounds and the global diversity of the students adds an invisible human connection. Living together, studying together, resolving conflicts and sharing experiences - that gave me the most unforgettable and most useful experience of my life."

From the life-and-death responsibility of serving in the RNLI Inshore Lifeboat service to the daily, unfiltered reality of 100% boarding life, AC taught Albert the art of deep empathy. That profound understanding of human nature became his superpower throughout a stellar professional career, from top-tier investment banking at Morgan Stanley and UBS to serving as a regulator at the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.

Albert Hui UWC Atlantic Alumnus from 1997 returns to UWC Atlantic

UWC Atlantic gave me special experiences and real meaning in my life. Living together, working together and resolving conflicts with fellow students from across the world gave me the most unforgettable and useful experience of my life.

Today, as President of a single-family office and foundation, Albert translates that global perspective directly into philanthropic scale. He views finance not as a destination, but as a mechanism to mobilise resources for the greater good.

Leveraging his lifelong network, Albert actively uses his personal and professional connections to channel financial capital into high-impact philanthropic causes, including giving back to the College that shaped him.

Albert is a brilliant example of an alumnus using their influence, time and talent to help the College raise funds to continue offering scholarship opportunities and ensure other students have the UWC Atlantic experience.

You can scale philanthropy; there’s no limit to helping people directly. I strive to influence wealth creators, family offices and business leaders to allocate more capital to philanthropic causes.
